Disasters can happen anytime with little or no advanced notice.  How successfully we survive these disasters is largely due to how well we are prepared for them.  This webpage aims to provide information to CERT members and other residents of Skamania County that is particular to our specific challenges.

What is CERT?

Skamania County’s CERT volunteers are citizens who underwent four Saturdays of training to become assets to our community in the event of disaster.  We are trained in:

• Disaster Preparedness
• Fire Safety
• Disaster Medical Operations
• Light Search and Rescue Operations
• National Incident Management System (NIMS) and  Incident Command System (ICS)
• Disaster Psychology
• Terrorism Response

This training culminated in a Disaster Simulation in concert with other Skamania County emergency services (Fire, EMS, and Sheriff).
