The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is responsible for the National Incident Management System (NIMS). NIMS establishes the management structure for emergencies from small events that last hours to large scale disasters that last many weeks.
NIMS training is required for Skamania County ARES/RACES members. This training in available on-line. The required courses are:
- IS-100.b – (ICS 100) Introduction to Incident Command System
- IS-200.b (ICS 200) ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents
- IS-700.a National Incident Management System (NIMS), An Introduction
Upon completing these courses, please email a copy of the completion certificate to the Skamania County ARES/RACES Training Assistant Emergency Coordinator.
